2. Respect - respect goes both ways, and must be earned.  Without respect, the relationship will not be healthy.
3. Responsiveness - a responsive horse is one that is listening to you and doing what you ask.  He or she must be constantly mentally and emotionally connected to you to be consistently responsive.
